At its peak, Darryl’s had 39 restaurants operating in nine states. People loved Darryl’s not just for the great food but also for the family-friendly environment and the memories created inside the antique walls. Over the years, the Darryl’s chain was bought and sold a handful of times. It was neglected and lost its sparkle. It dwindled from 39 restaurants all the way down to 1 and was about to close its doors for good. That’s when Marty Kotis decided to rekindle the fire and bring Darryl’s back to its original glory. The restaurant has undergone a $2 million renovation and expansion. We’ve added great new features like our fire pits, brought back the original Darryl’s recipes, and put together a world-class team.

RED Cinemas is an upscale 15-stadium, luxury movie theater w/ leather recliners and rockers in Greensboro, NC (The former Carousel Cinemas and Janus Theatre). The theater features premium concessions including craft beer and wine, fresh popcorn, classic candies, espresso and more! RED Cinemas is the only Independent Multiplex in the Triad!

The Pig Pounder Brewery is named after a beer launched by the Darryl's restaurant chain in 1988. It is a local microbrewery specializing in English-style ales, with a focus on authenticity and quality. Pig Pounder uses malts from Thomas Fawcett in the UK and pristine well water from the Kotis’ farm, Haw River. The brewery also offers seasonal selections and bourbon barrel-aged beers.

Burger Warfare is an industrial military themed craft burger bar and shake restaurant. It has an exciting and energetic atmosphere that is family-friendly and casual. The menu features flattop burgers that focus on scratch made ingredients and a higher quality of meat blends, as well as house made custards used for over-the-top spiked and nonalcoholic shakes. Our atmosphere contains locally sourced artwork in towering futuristic robots and interactive military pieces that give a fun experience to all ages.

At Kick Ass Concepts, we don’t half-ass anything. Our mission is to provide gathering spaces where members of the community can experience the best quality food, drink, and entertainment.

Kick Ass Concepts was founded in 2009, when Marty Kotis (of Kotis Properties, LLC) purchased the Darryl’s restaurant chain from Houlihans. A once flourishing operation, Darryl’s had become a tired brand in need of updates and reinvestment. Kotis repositioned the brand by renovating existing infrastructure, developing the management team, and remaining true to Darryl’s core identity. The brand successfully re-launched and has once again become a Triad staple.
